Howel Richards Transport Ltd is a well established family run business with over 45 years experience in the haulage industry.

Based in Brackla, Bridgend the company is ideally located between Wales two largest cities Swansea and Cardiff. Having our depot just 2 miles from J36 of the M4 rewards us with speedy access to all our customers across South Wales.

Boasting a customer list containing several blue chip companies, our vehicles collect and deliver throughout the UK. The fleet is regularly maintained both on site and in the main dealership to provide optimum reliability and performance.

Focusing predominantly on general haulage, our vehicles transport a wide variety of goods ranging from steel to consumer electronics on both full and part load basis. Our experienced team of drivers and office staff are here to provide a personable and reliable service at competitive prices.

History

Established in 1968 by Howel Richards at the tender age of 21, the first truck purchased was a Bedford TK for 80.00. The companys first order was a factory move for Christie Tyler of Bridgend.

Due to the success of the move, Christie Tyler offered Howel a contract to become their sole haulage provider - Howel accepted. The company quickly grew, new vehicles were purchased and extra drivers were employed to cover all of their haulage requirements.

In the mid 70s, the company diversified into general haulage and began transporting goods such as consumer electronics, tissue and timber. The introduction of larger vehicles and trailers resulted in the company moving from its original premises in Treoes to an industrial unit in Brackla, Bridgend where it still remains.
